About Me
Ricky currently serves as the Director of Media Affairs for New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, specializing in social media, digital communications strategy and video production.
Prior to joining the Christie Administration, Ricky was a Project Manager at CampaignGrid, LLC, the leading online advertising and fundraising firm for political campaigns, advocacy groups, and non-profits. Simultaneously, he worked with both the North Carolina and New Jersey Republican Parties to develop social media, online fundraising, and advertising strategies.
During the 2010 midterm elections, Ricky served as the Deputy Director of Communications at The Richard Burr Committee, US Senator Richard Burr's re-election campaign committee in North Carolina. During the lead-up to Election Day, Ricky spearheaded the use of online advertising in voter micro-targeting and get-out-the-vote efforts. Senator Burr won re-election with 55% of the early vote, a 12 point swing from 2008. Ricky also served as New Media Consultant for Jon Runyan, who successfully defeated Democratic Incumbent Congressman John Adler in New Jersey’s Third Congressional District.
In 2009, Ricky served as the state-wide e-Campaign Director for Chris Christie's successful campaign for New Jersey Governor. There, Ricky pioneered the use of web video as a means of rapidly responding to the 24-hour news cycle. He also began work with Wokai as a New Media and Marketing Consultant, (我开, meaning "I start" in Mandarin), the first peer-to-peer microfinance non-profit in China.
Ricky holds a B.A. in both Economics and East Asian Studies from Vanderbilt University, a New Jersey Real Estate Salesperson's license and is conversational in Mandarin Chinese.
